What Is RAAM?
- A cross-country bicycle race
- Over 3000 miles from coast to coast
- 8 person teams must cover the course in about 6 days in order to be competitive, that’s an average of just over 20mph.
- The racers will climb over 170,000 vertical feet during the event, cresting the Rocky Mountains at 10,856ft above sea level, that’s over 2 miles high! At this altitude, the racers will struggle with oxygen intake and dehydration, not to mention the weather conditions.
